THEY seem like they belong in a fairytale, but those areas really exist in real life.
And they are all in our backyard.
Given it is their job to understand Australia, the staff at Tourism Australia are a fairly well-travelled crowd - but every so often a picture of an "undiscovered" place submitted by enthusiasts of the @Australia Instagram page manages to stun the specialists.
But don't expect these spectacular sights to stay unknown for long. All these locations has clocked up thousands of "enjoys" around Instagram, together with many fans instantly making plans to see.
And much as Aussies would love to keep these hideaways our own little key, showcasing the nation's varied attractions to the world is fundamental to Tourism Australia's plan, according to managing director John O’Sullivan.
"There are just so many incredible places waiting to be finding across the length and breadth of the nation and it is always great to see the numerous positive remarks as we discuss some of those hidden jewels together with our associates," he says.
